“Good location for 1 night stay”

We arrived late in Lourdes and only had a short time at our hotel. This hotel was chosen as part of our Trafalgar Tour and I can't complain. We didn't have a river view room like a number of our other group members did but it was comfortable enough for the one night.

“My second enjoyable visit to Solitude. Would recommend.”

My second visit in the year ! Everyone most helpful and spoke perfect English. One slight hiccup on arrival - I had booked a double room (with balcony if possible, as I previously had in May) although on my own I wanted a bit more space etc. Unfortunately I was given a smallish room with some sloping ceiling. I asked the receptionist for a change and was immediately given another room and told to see what I thought to it ! What a good service ! It was fine although the view was quite grim as closely opposite a building with windows that faced into mine. Hence no privacy . Kept my curtains closed most of the time ! However I did not want to complain again especially as I was out most of the time, but am certain they would have exchanged to another room if I had requested. My room last May faced across the river with balcony which I loved. Very clean & attractive hotel with good food. The waiters/ waitresses were extremely good people. Nothing was any trouble to them and always so cheery and smiling. One jolly waitress especially, who was on breakfast duty was particularly special. Although she knew little English her communication and helpfulness were very appreciated ! She was always so cheerful and smiling and I felt she would do anything to make my breakfast the best it could be ! I hope Solitude realise what a great workforce they have. From Receptionists to Cleaners I would say 'well done and Thank you' !!!! Of course I would recommend as would also a group from my hometown who stayed a few days previously and I believe are going back next year ! Thank you Solitude !!!!!!

"Yes Beautiful Hotel, very friendly service. "
Nice quiet room on the top floor. The hotel staff were really amazing. Everybody was so helpful. Liliana from Portugal in restaurant was especially friendly & helpful. Swimming pool on top floor nice. Views from my window, top floor and restaurant were class. The people working there were very down to earth. Sales assistants and Shop Managers gave great discounts. I would go back again tommorrow if I could. Thank you.

“Not Disappointed"

As a Hospitalier/Volunteer with our annual Archdiocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage, I stayed in this hotel last year on a room only basis, but resolved to stay this year on a full-board basis as it was my 25th year. Thanks to an early promotional e-mail from the Solitude I was able to book at an attractive price. I was not disappointed. Owing to medical conditions I requested a room with a walk-in shower. The room was excellent with plenty of space in the spotlessly clean shower room which had obviously been designed with disabled access in mind. The beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning had been set just right. Fridge and tea/coffee-making facilities were provided, although could have further benefited from the availability of small, single-use, UHT milk cartons - I can manage black coffee but not black tea ! WiFi in my room proved very useful and handy. Food and restaurant service was good and Liliana (from Portugal) was very helpful with the choice of meals at my own personal table. In our role as Hospitaliers, the staff were very accommodating with our working times. Overall a very pleasant experience which I would recommend to others.

La Solitude provides warmth, welcome, and comfort
A stone's throw from the Lourdes sanctuary, La Solitude was a wonderful place to stay on my first pilgrimmage to Lourdes. The front desk staff couldn't have been warmer or more welcoming, and there is a spirit of kindness and support, much like in Lourdes in general. Facilities are very well-kept and comfortable. I had a nice view of the river, fort, and mountains, which was a nice plus, too.

Lovely Lourdes
We stayed at La Solitude for an overnight stop whilst visiting Lourdes. The hotel is excellent nicely furnished with a lovely restaurant, lounge & bar area. The room was well furnished. Our meals were excellent & all the staff first class.

Beautiful Lourdes
We are three sisters who travel to Lourdes each year with the Military pilgrimage. We choose to stay in La Solitude Hotel because it is very convenient to the Grotto of Lourdes. Rooms are comfortable and look as if they have been recently renovated.

Recommend it!
After staying in two DIVES in Paris, what a refreshing change it was to stay at the Solitude. The view of our balcony was the icing on the cake. We ate at the restaurant and both times the food was excellent, the service good and the food great! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Lourdes....great location as well!

Honeymoon
We arrived quite late and were confused as being part of an older generation bus tour! (…), the room was clean and the bed very comfortable.

Nice hotel 5 min walk from Grotto.
This is our fourth time at this hotel. Since our last visit four years ago the rooms have been renovated. We had a nice view on the fifth floor of the castle and in the evening see the torch light possession. Staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the evening dinner of the day (set meal which was always made available in the morning) Breakfast was a cold help yourself buffet.

Short retreat
This is the second visit to the hotel, its central to all the amenities and more important to the Sanctuary,
